Achievement Builders Corporation makes a commitment to assess, diagnose and improve student achievement. This commitment includes not only testing for students but direction for teachers in assisting students with deficits.

Between each assessment, ABC is available for consultation with teachers & administrators. This consultation will provide a complete understanding of Reports. Along with this, ABC will provide teachers & administrators with classroom & curricular strategies that will assist students to remediate learning deficits.

Our Business
The Achievement Builders Corporation is a "computer-based" company that addresses the achievement needs of students in grades three through ten. More specifically, it addresses four Fundamental Learning Areas: Reading, Mathematics, Social Science, & Science at grades three through ten.

The company was developed out of an idea that is research-based: to assist students improve their test scores in Reading, Mathematics, Social Science, & Science at the Elementary & High School Levels. By developing the product - "Practice Makes Perfect" - the company is able to support online practice tests for students to take prior to the state tests.

The goal of the company is to establish a presence in Public Elementary & High Schools. By doing this, students will be able to practice their skills in each of the four fundamental learning areas. By rehearsing these skills, student achievement levels will improve.

Our Program
This program - "Practice Makes Perfect" - provides an incredible number of options for teachers, parents and students to check strengths and deficits in learning. Administratively, one can check on classroom, and specifically, students as they progress through the practice assessments. With instant feedback for teachers, students, parents & administrators, this has been demonstrated as a "state-of-the-art" program for the improvement of test scores.

Dr. Joe Pedersen Founder/President
Dr. Joseph Pedersen has been an educator since 1965. He began teaching at Lockport West High School, and then became a full-time elementary school teacher in Darien, Illinois in 1966. From there he earned a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from DePaul University in 1969.

He was named the first Guidance Counselor at a new junior high school in Darien in 1969 - Eisenhower Junior High School. It was here that Dr. Pedersen became the Test Director for the Darien Public Schools, an elementary school district in DuPage County, Illinois.
